The Ford Mondeo Titanium X is Ford’s latest addition to the driving world. The Mondeo is a facelift to the car originally driven by James Bond in Casino Royale five years ago. Ford has aimed to give it a facelift and improve the car to compete in an increasingly competitive industry. New engines, interior design, and tech features are the main additions to this new car. Does it matter, though?
Engine
Fuel economy remains a major selling point for this car as it utilises a 2.0 diesel engine. What’s more, Ford provides the customer with lots of options as this model is available in 115hp, 140hp, and 163 hp.
The engine is also following the general green trend in the 21st century as it utilises an Ecoboost engine in an effort to curb its CO2 emissions, although tests have shown that it hasn’t made significant inroads into cutting the emissions of its cars.
Size and Interior
The size is certainly the main feature of the Ford Mondeo Titanium X as it’s simply enormous. With lots of space for people, products, and whatever else needs to be transported this is the perfect car for everybody. On the other hand, its size can become an issue in certain everyday locations. For example, if the driver was trying to find a space on the side of the road outside the front of the school gate then this could pose a problem as this model simply wouldn’t fit.
The interior has also seen significant changes since the last release of the Mondeo by Ford. The interior now looks sleeker and shinier, and that’s why this car doubles as both a family and an executive car. Many executives are opting for this model of car, and many are being judged in a positive light for it.
Driving
Driving the car is much the same as ever as Ford’s Mondeo has always been a great car to drive. There’s no change to this but it’s added very sensitive steering to help drivers out. This might not be a welcome change from those drivers who prefer to have a large amount of control, but for the majority this is a good thing. For a big car it’s manoeuvrable as well due to the fact that its new chassis enables the car to stabilise itself remarkably easily. This makes taking sharp corners simple and safe.
Should You Buy It?
Whilst the Mondeo does have its size issues, for most people this shouldn’t be an issue. Admittedly, it isn’t as green as the ads make out and it certainly won’t be the best car for an environmentally-conscious individual, but it’s got a good fuel efficiency level for a big car.
The Mondeo does have enough in its locker to be able to warrant paying out for this vehicle. With Ford’s ever-present driving precision and a little bit of style added it doesn’t matter whether the driver is a business executive or a family driver as this car will be perfect for them.
